Have you ever ghosted a job?
I didnt do it, but it happened to me. I was working a shift at Staples. Probably office supplies. A new cashier was due for a fifteen minute break. I agreed to cover it. He walked out an never came back from his Cigarette Break. This is pretty common at the end of business cycles in low wage jobs. At times like these, there are more jobs available, then people willing or able to do them. Sure some suckers like me look at the big picture and stick around to carry out whatever long term goals they have. Many people, however, will leave one joe job for another paying another $.25 per hour. Some will leave simply because a job annoys them. They know they have another job paying the same minimum wage somewhere else. That is the free market at work. Me? I worked the guys shift. I think I ended up picking up a few more shifts than I wanted until the next recession hit. A few more bucks for Hanukah gifts and date night. Thanks for the A2A Chelsea Becker
