I am assuming you are female) Your voice might not be damaged because every person has a different range in which they sing. All girls start out with a high voice range meaning they can sing high notes easily, and while some women keep their high voice range, some do not. Some women, like myself, lose their high voice range and develope a lower vioce range meaning you have a harder time singing high notes and lower notes are usually easier. Your voice may simply have turned to a lower range like mine did, so instead of being able to sing high notes, singing lower notes would be easier for you.
